New Discovery!

I have discovered a link between my mother's family (The Putnam family which is an offshoot of the Abbey's) and the royal line of Europe. I have also discovered that I am relaited to my wife (38th cousins 1 time removed to be exact). We both share Charlamagne as a common ancestor. I have added new information to the House, Bemiller, Hoover, Pfaffenberger, and Bowman families and others.

Hey, If you find something useful here or not, just sign my guestbook. I like to know if I've helped someone. If you see that I've linked to your site and you have a graphic link you'd like me to use, just give me a hollar!

This web site contains almost all of the information compiled on our extended families. This includes people from the Ward, Bowman, Morrow, Krisha, Hall, and Baker families. Currently, there are well over 4,000 people in this database. More will be added as more are found. I used a program called PAF 4.0 to create the files. I hope you find this interesting. Fot all of you other genealogists out there on the web, feel free to copy anything that I have here. If you have information that I do not, I would appreciate if you send it to me here . The easiest way for me to add it is a gedcom file that only overlaps one individual. That will take me much less time to hook the files together. Photos or maps or anything like that that can "Add Flavor" to the site will be greatly appreciated. I can also put links in to your website if you want. I had do move my decendant lines to another website as the main file is getting pretty big.

Some Interesting things about our family:

William Lamberton, an ancestor of the Morrows, built the first ship ever built in the new world in 1646. He sailed for England and was never heard from again. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote the poem "The Phantom Ship" about him. William Knowlton, another ancestor of the Morrows, took a ship and sailed for America in 1632 with his wife and family. He died on the way over and is buried in Nova Scotia. Antoni Sadowski, an ancestor of the Bowmans, was a soldier in Poland's war with Norway in the late 1600's. He was captured and taken to a ship where he jumped overboard and escaped. His brother was not so lucky. Antoni later came to america where his children changed their name to Sandusky. He traded with the indians in Ohio as early as 1720. There is speculation that the city of Sandusky may be partially named after him. The Ridenour family, who are ancestors of the Wards, can trace their ancestry back to the 8th century to a man named Pertinax Von Ritenower. He was a Germanic warlord, and supposedly a very ruthless man. 500 people died during the construction of his stronghold. Thomas Goble, an ancestor of the Hall family was excecuted in 1682 for killing some 3 indian women and 3 indian children during King Phillip's War. Samuel Abbe, an ancestor of the Morrows gave tesimony during the Salem Witch Trials. There are ancestors that have fought in every major American war from the Pequoit war of 1644 to World War 2 minus the Mexican War. Several of whom were highly decorated.
