Frank Wolfe was a very unusual person. When he and his wife first were in Cleveland around the turn of the century, they were very poor. Margaret Miller told me a story about how he killed and cooked a cat and told the children it was a squirrel. She said you never knew what he would try to pull next. He was mischevious, but not cruel. She called it "The house of horrors".
Antoinette Herold was born about 1865 in Pesek, Czeckoslovakia. She died about 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio. Antoinette married Frank Wolfe about 1885 in probobly Cleveland, Ohio.
Antoinette was from Czeckoslovakia and was the source of hoska. Margaret Miller said that when she and Frank did not want the children to understand them, they spoke in Bohemian (although, he did not speak very well). All of her children did not speak it. They wanted the children to be American, knowing only English. Little did they know that they were severing us from our roots.
